Operated by the Alpine guide Diego Valleferro and his family, the hotel and restaurant is on the Passo Giau at the base of the Nuvolau cliffs. You don’t get much better than this in terms of scenery from your hotel window, but this is only on option if you’re visiting between June 20 and Sept 20. If you’re planning hiking excursions in the zone, you’ll find Diego and his son to be an excellent resource. There is an outdoor terrace where you can sit with an espresso or an aperitif and soak up the mountain sun in the company of many others since this is a favorite stopover, particularly with motorcyclists.
